Kim Gordon
Auxiliary Ministries Coordinator
Raised and saved at a young age in the Baptist Church, when our family moved to Texas we struggled to find a church home, and bounced around for a few years, until a sweet friend invited us to a Bible Study in her home on Colony Drive. We went, met Cere & Ann and a handful of others, and that was the beginning of Life Church.
I served anywhere they would let me and learned all I could in those early years of establishing Life. I was filled with the Holy Spirit at 16 and knew I wanted to always be a servant of God. While attending a youth Conference called Summit ’91 I received the call to ministry. I came home, told Cere and before I knew it, I was visiting Christ for the Nations in Dallas, TX, and preparing to leave my full-time job and pursue formal training. While living in Dallas, I worked with Scott Hinkle Outreach Ministries and graduated from CFNI in 1993.
I returned to Life for a short time and served in youth ministry before being offered and opportunity to re-connect with SHOM as they re-located their ministry to Phoenix, AZ. In Phoenix, I served as an administrator and conference coordinator for the ministry and joined Phoenix First Assembly, now Dream City Church, where I served in Young Adult Ministry and worked on various projects for the next 3 years.
Family circumstances brought me back to Texas and Life, and I began working in the medical field and eventually took a retail management job in 2002.
I met my husband, Sean in 2003, we married in 2005 and welcomed our son, Brayden in 2006. Life got busy for us and somehow that call to ministry got pushed to the back for many years.
In 2017, that strong desire and pull to ministry began stirring again in my heart, but I thought that perhaps it was too late, that too much time had passed, that I was too old to start gain….but God is faithful to His kids and to His purpose for them, and as I sought Him things began to change, doors closed and others swung open wide. In 2020 I left my retail job after 18 years, not having a clue what I was going to do. My husband said God has a plan and we will be OK!
Turns out we were more than OK! God provided an opportunity to join the Life staff full time in September 2020!
My heart is to draw people into community with their brother’s and sister’s, teach and train believers, and encourage people to pursue God and see that He has good plans for them.
